MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA

In a world where higher education is growing increasingly competitive, AUM has flourished as the top ranked university in Montgomery. To address the needs of their growing student population, the university commissioned the renovation of their existing student union-the Taylor Center in 2010. This $6.5 million project included an inventory and analysis of the current spatial use followed by a reassignment of spaces to more efficiently meet AUM’s changing needs. In addition, the entirety of the interior was demolished and redesigned and the exterior received a face-lift with a new façade.

Today, the Taylor Center is bustling. With student life, Cashier’s office, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Housing and Resident Life, Campus Police, Admission, Advising, programming space, computer labs, conference rooms, and the book store and dining hall, the Taylor Center is the most trafficked building on campus, greeting both students and guests to AUM’s beautiful campus.
