MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA

MPACT- Montgomery Preparatory Academy for Career Technology-is the brainchild of a partnership between MPS and the River Region business community. The new facility, a $6M renovation of the vacant Montgomery Mall accomplished two goals: breathing new life into an aging building and providing ample space for students as they explore programs in Advertising Design, Medical Sciences, Industrial Systems, Information Technology, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Building Science and Construction, HVAC and Mechanical Systems, Electrical Technology, Fire Science and Public Safety.

The design team rose to the challenge in their adaptive revitalization of the mall, re-purposing the space into interactive labs where the students experience true “hands on” learning. In addition, the facility houses student common areas and administrative and support spaces, all while keeping growth potential top of mind.
