The Historic Prattville Development Authority retained JMR+H as lead architect for the re-purpose and adaptive re-use of the existing Continental Eagle office building in downtown Prattville, AL. This building would become the consolidated Public Safety Building, housing the administrative offices and training rooms for the City Police, Fire Department and EMA departments.
Construction work on the 28,000 SF facility included site work and parking, exterior envelope upgrades, space reallocation and redesign, and electrical/mechanical systems replacement.
Chambers County 911
Located in Lannett, AL, the Chambers County 911 / Emergency Management Facility is a 7,100 S.F. structure which houses the Emergency Operations Center, the Deputy Director, Director, and Administrative offices, mapping, storage / bunk room, warming kitchens, conference room, file storage, and a large conference room. All of this was designed with the goal of encouraging greater community engagement.
All of the building materials were selected for durability and low maintenance so as to provide the greatest life cycle possible and with extreme weather conditions in mind.
Etowah County 911
In 2014, Etowah County partnered with JMR+H to design a new 911/Emergency Management and Communications Facility. The $3.2M facility is approximately 11,940 SF and provides a multipurpose room, incident operation area, expanded Dispatch space, and an Emergency Operations Center. In addition, the facility houses the Deputy Director, Director, and Administrative Assistant offices, mapping, storage / bunk room, warming kitchens, shower capabilities, conference space, and file storage.
